West Bengal Teacher Gets Call For Vaccine Trial In Odisha

Chiranjit Dhibar, a school teacher from West Bengal Durgapur are going to participate in the clinical human trial of the Covid-19 vaccine in Odisha.

Mr. Dhibar is an active RSS worker and he has volunteered to participate in the phases of the human trial for the COVID-19 vaccine, which is being developed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Bharat Biotech.

Confirming the news on his Facebook page, Dhibar wrote that he has been inspired by the principles of the RSS and has decided to donate his body to the country for the clinical trial of coronavirus vaccine which is being developed by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Bharat Biotech.

According to reports, Mr. Dhibar said, “I had sent a request to ICMR back in April. I wanted to undergo the clinical trial of the vaccine. That’s a little effort for our vast mankind. The tests have to happen on human beings. Someone or other has to come forward and take the risk. Then why not me. It’s my service to the nation. I am mentally prepared, there is no stress at all,”.

He also stated that, on Sunday (July 5), I have received a call from the Patna center of ICMR that he has been selected for the clinical trial.

It is to be noted Drug Controller General of India CDSCO (The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization) has given approval for a human clinical trial of two made-in-India COVID-19 vaccines- COVAXIN and ZyCov-D, claimed by the ministry of science and technology, the government of India on Sunday. Both the vaccine candidates have been approved for Phase II, III trials.

According to the Union Ministry of Science and Technology, more than 140 candidate COVID-19 vaccines are currently under various stages of development across the world, out of which 11 have reached the human trial phase.
