Third corona death in J&K

Srinagar, April 7 (IANS) Another COVID-19 patient died on Tuesday in a Srinagar hospital, taking the toll of coronavirus deaths to three in J&K.

A patient admitted with serious acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital died late last evening.

His body was retained at the hospital mortuary since his test result for COVID-19 was awaited.

Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Nazir Chowdhary told IANS that the patient’s report has been received and he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, nodal officer for monitoring the virus infection in Bandipora district, told IANS that doctors have advised the authorities to perform the burial of the deceased as per the protocol prescribed for a COVID-19 patient’s death.

This is the third COVID death in J&K. Earlier, a Tabligi leader and a villager from Tangmarg area had died of the dreaded virus.
