Schools, colleges, Metro in Raj to stay closed in ‘Unlock 2’

Jaipur, June 30 (IANS) In ‘Unlock 2’ starting from July 1, schools, colleges, coaching institutes, metro rail, cinema halls and international airlines will remain closed in Rajasthan till July 31, the state government announced on Tuesday.

The order issued by the Home Department also said that swimming pools, gyms and shopping malls will also remain closed in the state till July 31.

The lockdown in containment zones and prohibition of certain activities in areas outside the containment zone has been extended till July 21, said the order, citing the Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines released on Monday.

The order also said that no relaxation of any kind has been permitted in containment areas of hotspots and cluster/curfew areas. The movement of individuals for non-essential activities shall remain completely prohibited from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., in line with the Central guidelines.

Training institutes of the Central and state governments might start functioning from July 15, and shall adhere to SOPs issued by Department of Personnel & Training.

Also, all religious places of worship in urban, municipal and rural areas which have had daily gatherings of over 50 people shall remain closed while places seeing people less than 50 have been allowed to open.

The order issued by Additional Chief Secretary Home, Rajeev Swaroop, also said that special permission is mandatory for any wedding function where the limit of guests is 50. Similarly, 20 people are allowed in a funeral.

Those flouting the norms will face heavy fines, it says.

Face covering and social distancing are termed under standard safety precautions and as per the order, the District Magistrate shall enforce the common safety prescriptions through fines and penal action under the Epidemic Disease Ordinance.

Those above 65 years of age and children under 10 years are advised to stay at home and move out only for essential or health purposes.
