Samsung has officially announced the next generation mobile processor Exynos 9825 SoC. It is the company's first 7nm silicon chip made with EUV technology.
Samsung says the Exynos 9825 will power global variants of their Note 10 series Smartphones. The new EUV technology will help the company to create leverage extreme ultraviolet wavelengths to print more first circuits, and it will develop a faster and more power-efficient processor. Also, the Exynos 9825 brings cutting-edge gaming and graphics performance in a power-efficient package, so you never have to worry about battery life. The Exynos 9825 SoC has an octa-core setup with tri-cluster CPU configuration. There are two custom CPU cores and two Cortex-A75 cores to ensure optimum performance. And for efficiency, you have four Cortex-A55 cores. However, Samsung hasn’t revealed clock speeds of the CPU cores on the new chipset. In terms of GPU, you get ARM Mali-G76 with 12 clusters, which is similar to the Exynos 9820.
According to the Samsung website, the Exynos 9825 SoC features an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) designed for the next generation of mobile experiences from AI-powered photography to augmented reality. With fast, efficient AI processing, the NPU brings new possibilities for on-device AI from object recognition for optimized photos, to a suite of performance-enhancing intelligence features such as usage pattern recognition and faster app pre-loading.
The new chipset processor comes with a multi-format codec (MFC). It also supports video encoding of up to 8K at 30fps, as well as, 4K encoding at 150fps and 10-bit HEVC (H.265) codec. For the connectivity, the chipset integrates with the 4G LTE-Advanced Pro modem Cat.20 8CA. Moreover, the device is also ready to use with 5G connectivity as it can be paired with Samsung’s Exynos modem 5100, and Galaxy Note 10 phones.
