On Friday, the makers of Rani Mukerji’s upcoming film ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’, unveiled her first look along with the official release date.

The film is inspired by true events and will hit the silver screens next year, on 3 March 2023.

Emmay Entertainment, the production house which is bankrolling the project, shared a still from the forthcoming film while giving a glimpse of Rani’s character.

In the still, the actress donned a pink cotton saree and her hair tied in a simple plait. She is also seen wearing a black cardigan, traditional white and red bangles worn by Bengali women, and vermillion on her forehead. She looks slightly lost as she holds a plush teddy bear toy in her hand and a few papers.

While captioning the picture, the production house wrote, “Inspired by the true story of a mother who shook an entire nation with her courage and willpower to win back her children. #RaniMukerji’s #MrsChatterjeeVsNorway to release in cinemas on 3rd March 2023 (sic).”

As per the report, the film recounts the story of an immigrant Indian mother’s battle against the Norwegian foster care system and local legal machinery to win back the custody of her children.

The film is directed by Ashima Chibber and written by Rahul Handa and Sameer Satija. It is produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Nikkhil Advani under their banner Emmay Entertainment, along with Zee Studios.
