PM Modi speaks with Amir of Qatar; discuss cooperation in fields of investment, energy security

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday had a telephonic conversation with Qatar’s Amir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.

While thanking Prime Minister for the greetings, Amir Al-Thani appreciated the enthusiasm with which the Indian community in Qatar participates in the National Day celebrations.

“Had a very pleasant conversation with my good friend @TamimBinHamad. Conveyed greetings for Qatar”s forthcoming National Day. Qatar is a vital pillar of India”s energy security and a valued source of FDI. We agreed to deepen our cooperation in all areas,” Modi tweeted.

During the telephonic conversation, the two leaders discussed the cooperation between India and Qatar in the fields of investment and energy security. Both the leaders have decided to create a special Task-Force to facilitate investments by Qatar Investment Authority in India and also resolved to explore Qatari investments in the entire energy value-chain in the country.
