Huma Qureshi and Avantika Dassani to star in web series ‘Mithya’ for ZEE5

Actress Huma Qureshi and Avantika Dassani are set to star in a new ZEE5 series “Mithya”, the streamer announced on Thursday. The web series will be directed by filmmaker Rohan Sippy.

“Mithya” is an original adaptation of the 2019 British series “Cheat”, which was headlined by Katherine Kelly and Molly Windsor.

“Mithya” marks the screen digital debut of Avantika Dassani, daughter of actress Bhagyashree.

Set in Darjeeling, the series navigates through the conflicted relationships between a Hindi literature professor Juhi, played by Huma Qureshi, and her student Rhea, played by Avantika Dassani.

Sharing the poster of the new web series on ZEE5 Huma Qureshi wrote, “IT’S TIME TO SHUT DOWN THE RUMOURS! It’s time to call out all the cheats and the liars. Presenting the world of lies – Mithya (sic).”

The official Twitter handle of ZEE5 also posted about ‘Mithya’. The caption read, “Things are not always what they seem. Watch the story of Juhi and Rhea to decide what’s true and what’s not. #Mithya coming soon on #ZEE5 (sic).”

The web series is produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Rose Audio Visual Production. Mithya, a six-part series is supported by Parambrata Chatterjee, Rajit Kapur, and Samir Soni in pivotal roles
