Google Maps May Soon Alert You If Your Taxi Goes Off Route

Google has been adding new user-friendly and safety features in its Google Maps. The new feature will alert you when your car or taxi is going off route.

This new feature was first spotted by a reporter at XDA Developers, and it’s currently only available in India. To make navigation more useful for the drivers, Google has recently added a speedometer feature in Google Maps to alert you when you may be driving at a higher speed than the set limit. Google Maps off route feature

The new feature will quickly alert you if your taxi goes off its usual route. Moreover, this feature would notify the users every time away from the intended course by 500 meters. To active this feature, you have to need to tap the ‘Stay Safer’ button on your Google Maps. The new feature can also be helpful to fix your overall fare on your taxi driver. Recently, the company also launched some new features related to public transport such as live train status, track the public transport and view auto-rickshaw fares. However, it currently seems to be available only in India. We hope the new off-route feature will expand to more countries as soon as possible.
