Demand for fuel at doorstep shoots up in NCR amid lockdown

New Delhi, April 5 (IANS) Demand for fuel at doorstep from bulk and stationed equipment users has increased during lockdown period in the National Capital Region, according to a statement by Hamsafar, a doorstep fuel provider.

It said the fuel at doorstep services is particularly for industries, farmers and hospital authorities, who cannot go to pumps for diesel. They can avail of it by using the mobile app ‘fuel humsafar’.

Various petroleum companies and startups recently launched diesel-at-doorstep service including Fuelkart by Bharat Petroleum and ‘Humsafar’ by a startup Samridhi in the NCR and various parts of the country.

Earlier, there was a restriction of minimum order of 100 litres of diesel, but now the oil companies have given relaxation due to coronavirus pandemic.

“The oil and gas sector remains strategically important for the country and is ripe for disruption. Innovative tech ideas like ‘Humsafar’ will bring new technology and know-how to the market as well as generate employment that will positively impact the economy as well as the bulk consumers of diesel” said Sanya Goel, Founder and Director of ‘Humsafar’.

‘Humsafar’ and ‘Fuelkart’ designed to deliver diesel anytime at doorstep provide its fuel delivery services to agriculture, housing societies, hotels, hospitals, malls, construction sites, industries, banquets and other bulk buyers of diesel in various NCR cities including Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad, Hapur, Kundli, Manesar, Bahdurgarh and Rohtak.

Humsafar has 12 mobile dispensing vehicles in varying capacity from 4-6 kilo-litre and experienced team of 35 people excluding abowser’ crews. Company plans to expand its services in other cities soon, Goel said.
