Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tests positive for COVID-19

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Tuesday (April 20) that he has tested positive for COVID-19. The Congress leader tweeted that he had mild symptoms.

“After experiencing mild symptoms, I’ve just tested positive for COVID. All those who’ve been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe,” Rahul Gandhi wrote.

Rahul had been campaigning for the ongoing assembly elections in Kerala, Assam, and West Bengal. The Congress leader has recently addressed rallies in West Bengal, where three phases of polling are left.

India is currently witnessing the second wave of novel coronavirus infections. A number of political leaders, among others, have tested positive for COVID-19 in recent days, including former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Union Minister Jitendra Singh.
