Bangalore Literature Festival opens from today December 12

The ninth edition of the Bangalore Literature Festival is starting from today at The Bangalore International Centre, Domlur.

The festival is open to everyone from December 12 to 13, and will also be live-streamed on Zoom. The number of people allowed at the venue is limited.

According to Shinie Antony, the festival founder and director of the festival, the sessions will be cover 8. authors and speakers. Books are on sale at the venue. The halls are ventilated spaces and will only have 50 per cent occupancy.

Authors at the festival include Alexander McCall Smith, Jeffrey Archer, Moni Mohsin, Declan Walsh, Vivek Shanbhag, Chetan Bhagat, Sudha Murty, Rohini Nilekani, Anuja Chauhan, and Milind Soman.

Shinie Antony, festival founder, and director said, “we have grown and evolved over the years, from when we conceptualized the Festival in 2012 to be the flagship annual literature festival rooted in Bengaluru. We believe it has evolved into one ‘Where India Comes to Celebrate Fine Writing’ and we continue to add new and exciting programming each year, deepening and widening our reach as India’s largest independent and community-funded literary conclave.”

She also said, “It is a continuous journey of making Bengaluru the locus in the Indian literary scene, one that encourages more people to discover the joys of writing and reading and we look forward to having you with us on this path.”
