Alibaba Cloud Launches Their Second Data Centre In India

Alibaba group’s cloud storage service AliCloud expanded their service in India. They launch second data center, with a new “availability zone” in Mumbai.

The Cloud storage business is growing up very fast, and many big companies have already in that business. Chinese e-commerce and internet giant Alibaba already have taken steps to take the market capture and to reach to more consumers. India is one of the largest internet users in the world. Looking at that figure Alibaba already has made their first data center in India to give service to small and medium businesses. Alibaba Cloud launched a distribution channel program in India this year on January with HCL Infosystems Ltd and Ingram Micro.

The new “availability zone” took place in Mumbai and the statement has come from the company that this will provide various kind of services like Elastic Computing Network, Storage, Application Services, Database, and Big Data Analytics to support the requirements of local governments and enterprises in the Alibaba Cloud India region.

The general manager of Alibaba Cloud India, Alex Li said in a statement that “The commencement of the second availability zone reiterates our focus on India as a key market in Alibaba Cloud’s global expansion strategy,”

The company states that dual availability zones will further enhance the level of security of Alibaba Cloud’s data centers in India.
