Meet Krishna Gopal who runs a cow shelter with 1100 cows

He is taking care of such cows from all over Noida by bringing them to his cowshed.

He is Krishna Gopal Agarwal, BJP national spokesperson. Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat, Baba Ramdev and Home Minister Amit Shah have also appreciated his social work.

He runs this cow shelter in Sector 94 of Noida. Gaushala has a total of 14 enclosures with 1100 cows at this point of time. A total of 45 employees have been hired to take care of them. There is a hospital with four staff members including a doctor.

The medical team of the hospital treats sick or injured cows which have been brought here from outside. This is the only Gaushala in NCR with a pathological lab facility where blood tests of cows can also be done. Anyone from NCR can avail the services for their cows here.

Two gobar gas plants have also been set up here. The electricity generated by the plants is used by the staff residing in the premises. They use the electricity for cooking as well. The gobar gas plant also fuels the generator whenever there is a power cut. For fodder, two hay houses have been constructed.

Where did the idea of setting up a cow shelter come from? To this, Gopal Krishna Agarwal says, “I followed a cow smuggler in the year 2000 . I found many injured cows with the smuggler. Then there was no facility to treat animals in Noida. Thereafter I decided to set up a cow shelter in Noida’s Sector-94 with the help of other people. Here only the abandoned cows are there, I have not bought a single one.”

He told IANS that he never took a single penny from the government for this cowshed, which has been in operation for the last 20 years. This service of cows is going on only with the help of the society. Two hundred cows out of 1100 are currently giving milk. The milk is purchased by the members of this Gau Seva Sadan, he said.

Work is also underway to make phenyl from cow urine.

He said he provided fodder to other people who have livestocks during the lockdown.
