Jaipur, March 28 (IANS) Four new coronavirus cases — three in the state’s ‘epicentre’ Bhilwara and the first one in Ajmer, were reported in Rajasthan on Saturday, taking the state’s total to 54, health officials said.

Of the new cases were reported from Bhilwara, two men, aged 27 and 22, are nursing staff of the emergency wing in Bangar Hospital- from where the cases had spread due to negligence of hospital doctors, Asditional Chief Secretary Rohit Kumar Singh said.

The third positive case is a 21-year-old woman working as a typist at the hospital.

With 24 cases, Bhilwara, so far, accounts for nearly half of the state’s total 54 cases.

The fourth positive corona case was reported in Ajmer and was the first case in the district. Ajmer has now become the state’s tenth district to report a Covid-19 case, confirmed health officials.

The confirmed case in Ajmer is of a 23-year-old man, who is a salesman and had recently travelled to Punjab, Singh said.

“He returned to Ajmer on March 22 and then was admitted in JLN Hospital,” he added.

Other cases in the state comprise 10 in Jaipur, six each in Jhunjhunu and Jodhpur each, two each in Pratapgarh and Dungarpur, one each in Churu, Pali and Sikar.
